After years of relying on members generosity of donating their old bikes it was time to upgrade the fleet and we bought 4 slightly used bikes this year from our friends at Bath Cycle and Ski in Woolwich. Please let us know how your ride went and send us pictures. Now get out there and peddle&#8230; And, don&#8217;t forget to travel (fly) with your helmet. Not necessary in the cockpit, but highly recommended for riding<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>*NEW LOCATION-PILOT BIKES AT KPQI<\/strong><br \/><strong>In conjunction with the Northern Maine Flying Club at the Presque Isle International Airport there are 4 bikes at this county airport ready to ride&#8230;.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>From the mountains to Central and Northern Maine and down on to the coast courtesy bikes are available at these locations for 2020:<br \/><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>BRUNSWICK\u00a0EXECUTIVE AIRPORT<a href=\"https:\/\/maineaeronautics.org\/?attachment_id=2277\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2277\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-2277 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/maineaeronautics.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/Cargo-Bike-at-BXM-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/maineaeronautics.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/Cargo-Bike-at-BXM-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/maineaeronautics.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/Cargo-Bike-at-BXM.jpg 320w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/strong><\/span><br \/>There are currently 4 bikes located at the FBO in BXM which have been upgraded this season. Great place to ride with Cook&#8217;s Corner to the north and a walk\/bike path to downtown Brunswick to the south. There is also a golf course at the end of runway 01. This is the 6th year now for bikes at BXM and they have proven to be very popular at this former Navy Base installation. Check out our newest addition to the BXM fleet&#8211;a Dutch styled Cargo Bike!<br \/><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>BETHEL REGIONAL AIRPORT<\/strong><\/span><br \/>We have upgraded the fleet here at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bethelregionalairport.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bethel airport<\/a> (0B1 ). We have 4 mountain bikes in great condition waiting for you to enjoy the ride in this beautiful western mountain Sunday River Ski Resort region. So many things to do and places to ride with a bike path into town with shops, restaurants and places to stay.<span style=\"color: #000000;\"><br \/><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">CHASE MEMORIAL AIRPORT-DOVER-FOXCROFT<\/span><\/strong><br \/>With the help of our friends at this new location there are 4 bikes at this grass-strip (44B) in central Maine. A great spot to ride to town for take-out or explore this captivating Piscataquis River town.<br \/><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>SUGARLOAF REGIONAL AIRPORT-CARRABASSETT VALLEY<\/strong> <\/span><br \/>Our friends at this bustling little airport (B21) near the Sugarloaf Ski Resort have 4 mountain bikes available. The airport is located next to the Maine Huts and Trails system which has some of the best mountain bike trails in the state. There is a convenient store next-door as well as the Bowling Alley Restaurant.<br \/>And coming soon: <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>LINCOLN REGIONAL AIRPORT<br \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">(THERE WILL BE NO BIKES AT THIS TIME AT LINCOLN AS THE AIRPORT IS SLATED FOR MAJOR RECONSTRUCTION THIS YEAR 2021).\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/span><br \/>The Lincoln Airport and Seaplane Base (KLRG) will soon have at least 2 bikes added to the MAA airport bicycle fleet here. The bikes will be located at the campground (runway 17) on the banks of the Penobscot River which is now open and has hot showers, camping under the wing or riverside, kayaks and much more for your camping enjoyment. Ride into to town for some take-out or camping provisions or take time to explore this river and lake side town. Stay tuned for further details on the bikes and see information on the campground on this website.
