Each year, the Maine Aeronautics Association works hard to bring exciting educational, informational and social events to Maine. Some examples are:
Started in 2021 after yet another year of MAA and other events around Maine and New England continued to be cancelled and rescheduled, MAA has initiated a series of Coffee Fly-Ins around the state. See the Calendar page for further details on the next airport location for these open hangar “pop-up” fly-in events.
“I Spy From the Sky”: The second installment of this fun
flying event is upcoming with exciting prizes and interesting new landmarks to discover.
And, a series of flying adventures called “Project Destinations”
The Annual Safety Seminar & Chili Cook-Off usually held in March of each year as well as Soup Sunday at the Wiscasset Airport and the annual Seaplane Safety Seminar….
We also have an on-going special program — Bikes for Pilots. Pilots love to fly to any destination but it is more enticing when there are opportunities to do further exploring upon arrival. By providing bikes, pilots and their passengers can extend their visit beyond the airport. This was first started at the Brunswick Executive Airport and now is being expanded into other regional airports.
If you have an unused bike kicking around that you would be wiling to donate, we’d love to hear from you!!
